Chassis Repair

As well as the work on the firewall of the Turner K3 Special (see 'Racing Cars' section) I also undertook work on the chassis.

This picture shows some chassis work in progress on the Doreen Evans 1935 Q-Type.

I enjoyed the challenge of producing this 'new' R-Type chassis from original factory drawings that I had collected over some years of researching this car. It is light enough to pick up with one hand, and amazingly ridged. As Hubert Charles observed "Like standing on the floor".

This is a K1 chassis restored and modified to K3 spec.

Pair of 'new' J Chassis rails

This chassis had the front 3ft cut off so that the remainder could form the basis of a car trailer! With a new front end and cross tubes the years of neglect were very satisfyingly wiped away.
